Server-Side Tracking & Meta Conversions API (CAPI) Setup for Fyvek

Configured robust server-side tracking infrastructure using Server-Side Google Tag Manager (sGTM) and custom domain routing. Solved iOS 14+ tracking limitations, ad-blocker data loss, and first-party cookie expiration issues to maximize data accuracy for Meta Ads and Google Analytics 4.

The Challenge

  • Client-side pixel data loss due to ad-blockers, browser tracking protections (ITP), and cookie lifespan degradation.

  • Inaccurate attribution and delayed reporting in Meta Ads Manager and GA4.

  • Need for dedicated first-party domain tracking (server.fyvek.com) to preserve conversion signals.

Solution & Implementation

  • Cloud & Server Setup: Hosted and deployed server container via PixelFly using a custom first-party subdomain (server.fyvek.com) with active SSL.

  • Meta Conversions API (CAPI): Configured server-side Meta tags alongside Cookie Monster template to retain _fbp and _fbc parameters for 365 days.

  • GA4 Server-Side Integration: Streamed clean ecommerce events (page_view, view_item, add_to_cart, begin_checkout) directly through the sGTM pipeline into Google Analytics 4.

  • Quality Assurance & Verification: Confirmed incoming requests in PixelFly container logs, verified real-time hits in GA4 DebugView, and validated firing states inside GTM Preview Mode.

Key Results / Impact

  • 100% First-Party Data Control: Data flows through a custom subdomain, bypassing client-side ad-blockers and Safari ITP limitations.

  • Extended Cookie Life: Preserved click IDs and browser IDs up to 1 year using server-set cookies.

  • Higher Event Match Quality: Improved Meta CAPI attribution accuracy for targeted retargeting and ROAS optimization.
